The Inception Story: Birth of a Prayer Altar
The inception of the Unknown Intercessors movement was birthed through a deep personal burden for early morning prayer, placed in the heart of Pastor Caroline Wangatia. During a season of spiritual conviction, she felt the urge to consistently rise at 3:00 AM for prayer and desired an accountability partner who could help sustain this commitment.
This journey began within her own home, where her first prayer partners were her husband and children, forming a foundation of family-based intercession and discipline in prayer.
As the burden grew, Pastor Caroline extended the invitation beyond her household, seeking others online who were struggling with consistency in 3:00 AM prayer. She shared a simple TikTok video calling for 100 people to join her in early morning prayer.
The response exceeded expectations. The video received over 8,000 views, and within a short time, 76 individuals formally signed up. This marked the beginning of a growing online prayer community.
To coordinate the movement, a WhatsApp group was created, which continued to expand rapidly as more believers joined the vision of early morning intercession.
Today, the Unknown Intercessors community has grown to over 1,800 interested members, with more than 250 participants consistently joining 3:00 AM prayers daily via Google Meet. In addition to early morning prayer, many also participate in Bible study sessions and other spiritual activities that continue to strengthen their faith and unity.
What began as a personal conviction has now developed into a growing global prayer movement centered on discipline, accountability, and fervent intercession at 3:00 AM.

About Pastor Carol Wangatia Global Convener - Unknown Intercessors
Caroline Wamubeyi Wangatia (fondly known as Pastor Carol) is the visionary Global Convener of The Unknown Intercessors prayer movement. Based in Ruiru, Kiambu County, Kenya, Pastor Carol is an anointed Youth and Teens Pastor, a certified Addiction Counselor, and a forward-thinking social entrepreneur. Her life’s mandate centers on spiritual revival, the psychological restoration of individuals, and the holistic empowerment of the next generation.
With a unique dual calling that bridges deep spiritual warfare with real-world, clinical behavioral health, she moves beyond the traditional pulpit to bring healing to broken spaces. Under her leadership, The Unknown Intercessors has emerged as a vibrant, multi-national digital and physical altar where believers gather to stand in the gap, break generational patterns, and raise kingdom marketplace leaders.
